Japan // July 2013

On July 15th, we missed our connecting flight to Houston, TX. We had no choice but to stay for a few nights in Narita, Japan. We took a little walk around the place and spotted some interesting sights. Here are some of the photos I took during the trip.

Snail Mail

Snail Mail

A few days ago my friends in the Philippines and I exchanged mailing addresses. We wanted to bring back the old tradition of sending messages via post office.

Sending  messages to other people abroad is as quick as a click of a button. Facebook, Skype, email... the list goes on. I think that receiving an email is not that exciting as receiving an actual letter. The feeling is just different. I can say that the sender put an effort on writing that letter and sending it. Yes, sending a letter to someone far away might take a long time to arrive. But to receive handwritten letters would make me feel special.

What do you think? Would you use snail mail again?

Goodbye Manila

Goodbye Manila

Our vacation in Manila has come to an end for now. Our flight to Narita, Japan connecting to Houston, Texas is on Monday. My family and I have been busy with last minute get togethers with family and friends. This weekend, my schedule is so packed! Later today, I have dinner with my friends, another dinner with family friends tomorrow, and lunch with my relatives the next day. I've been staying up so late and my workout schedule is messed up. Anyway, I am excited to fly to our new home in Texas. (As mentioned in my previous blog post, we moved from the Bay Area to Houston) Although, I am not too excited with the sixteen or seventeen hour flight. That would be really tiring.

I am looking forward to a fresh start in Houston. I am hoping that my new school will be good and that living there will be fun. Also, I am excited to explore the place. I have been searching the Internet for tourist attractions, shopping centers, good restaurants, and fun activities to do over there. If you have any suggestions, let me know in the comments.
