Disneyland x California Adventure

Following my San Francisco adventure, we drove down to SoCal to visit Disneyland last weekend (July 19). It was sorta my 18th birthday celebration with my family. Obviously, Disneyland is the best way to celebrate my adulthood. Am I right? We got to Anaheim in LA around 4 in the afternoon so we went straight to our hotel, and later on checked out Downtown Disney. We got extremely hungry around 5 since we didn't really have a proper lunch. So we walked around the place and checked out the restaurants. We ate at the Jazz Kitchen, and we weren't pretty happy with the food we ate. After eating, we headed back to our hotel to unwind and get charged up for the next day.
The next day we headed to the park. Upon entering the park, we walked straight to our favorite rides:
  • Indiana Jones - my all-time favorite
  • Pirates of the Caribbean - we got stuck in this ride for a good 15 minutes! Not cool.
  • Big Thunder Mountain - I think we rode this roller coaster a couple of times. I love it.
  • Space Mountain - we rode this after a heavy lunch. Thank goodness the wait was an hour, or else I might have barfed.
  • Autopia
  • Astrobalsters - I rode with my little cousins. I dominated! I got a final score of 104 000. That's pretty good right?
  • The Haunted Mansion - we rode this after we came back from the other park, Disney's California Adventure. I was scared in the beginning cause I didn't know what to expect. I was really terrified with the part the room "stretched". But the ride wasn't bad at all.
We had lunch at the All American Roundup and Barbecue behind Big Thunder Mountain. They serve all you can eat barbecue ribs and chicken, corn bread, salad, and beans. It was so good. I definitely recommend.
We left Disneyland around 4pm, and walked across to Disney's California Adventure. The last time I was there (three years ago), there were still in the process of building Carsland, and I didn't ride Tower of Terror because I am so afraid of vertical drops. I do not like the feeling you get when you fall vertically on a amusement park ride. Anyway, the first thing we rode was Tower of Terror (yay). My little cousins called me "chicken" when I told them that I didn't want to go, so I braved up (haha). The "lobby" of the "hotel" was pretty spooky and cool. Also, I really like the creepy doll on the couch by the front desk. I enjoyed the ride, but... I still dislike vertical drops. After Tower of Terror, we walked our way to Radiator Springs. The place seriously looked like the movie. I felt like I was in the movie. While we were there, we met Lightning McQueen and we saw Mater. (I am still wondering how the car moved around!) After meeting him, we rode Radiator Springs Racers, which is apparently the most popular ride in the park.
Disneyland and California Adventure looks so pretty at night!
We left the park at 1am. I was literally dragging my feet to our car because they were too tired. We were all tired that everyone immediately went to bed when we arrived at the hotel. It was a very tiring day, but we had fun and that is what matters.

New Obsession: Alex & Ani

I have a new arm candy obsession. I first heard about Alex & Ani when they followed me on my old Twitter account. I immediately loved their products but didn't know where I could get them personally. Their brand is focused on positive energy and high quality pieces. To read more about the brand click here

Finally, as mentioned in my previous blog post, I bought my first Alex & Ani bracelet. I specifically bought a San Francisco Giants one in gold since I was in the city and the Giants is my favorite baseball team. The second one I have is a Disney edition with a pretty Mickey Mouse head. It was a gift for my birthday by my godmother. She bought it from Disneyland at the World of Disney Store in case you are wondering.

Alex & Ani has tons of collections to choose from! I am obsessed with the two I have, and I am looking forward for my collection to grow!

San Francisco // July 2014

Last week, we visited the Bay Area to see my cousins. A trip to the Bay is not complete without going to the city. So we spent a day walking around the crowded streets of San Francisco.

We first stopped by the Golden Gate bridge. We took a ton of photos and froze ourselves on the top of a hill. After that, we drove to the famous Fisherman's Warf by the pier, and headed to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. I ordered something different that time (Rasta Pasta) and was so happy with it. I was with my little cousins at the restaurant and they were excited with all the animals and the "thunderstorms" that goes on inside. Overall, everyone enjoyed lunch. After a good lunch, we walked down the street to Pier 39, where the sea lions were. There were not a lot of them since I heard that most of them are moving to Monterey? I am not sure. Anyway, we strolled through the shops at Pier 39 and did a little bit of shopping. I bought a California Republic flag which is now hanging in my room, a couple of shirts, and an Alex & Ani San Francisco Giants bracelet! I have been eyeing that bracelet for the longest time, and I finally got it! We then decided to not stay long at San Francisco since it was getting dark and colder. So we hit the road back to the East Bay around 5pm and everyone had a smile on their face.

Here are a few snaps from my trip.

World Cup 2014 Brazil : Finals Weekend

photo from FIFA World Cup

Since summer started, I didn't do anything but watch the World Cup with my brother (we didn't want to go on vacation until someone wins the title). I don't think we missed one game of the 2014 World Cup... Anyway, we are finally on the two final games, and I am excited! I have been rooting for Germany from the beginning, and now they are playing the finals against Argentina tomorrow (July 13). I am happy with the two teams that will play for the title. Both teams are really good, which will make the game more exciting! Have you been following the World Cup? Who do you think will win?

Auf geht's Deutschland.
