Skin Story and Skin Care

Here a little background on my skin... I have normal to oily skin, and I have a few hyperpigmentation spots from previous break outs around my forehead. I started wearing makeup at age 17 when I noticed that my skin started to get oilier. Back then, I only used a little bit of concealer and powder foundation. As I started to get into makeup, I started watching YouTube videos by beauty gurus. From there I ventured out to liquid foundation, primers, eyebrow products, mascara, and etc. I don't really wear a lot of makeup, I just do a no-makeup makeup look. But I would wear foundation everyday. But my mistake was.. I didn't take care of my skin that well. I would always get lazy at the end of the night and just use a makeup wipe or two to take off my whole face of makeup. From that, I started getting spots around my face and then I just covered them up with more concealer.

Now, I want to cut down on makeup and start saving my skin again. As I was browsing around YouTube, I stumbled across HeyClaire's video about her skin care routine. She recommended the Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser together with the Blemish Clearing Serum. I've been using the two for more than a week now and at first it broke me out. But I think that's how these products work. It gets rid of the gunk underneath your skin. From using the two products, I'm seeing subtle changes in the appearance of my skin. My skin is more radiant and the color is balanced. I definitely recommend these products.

For makeup removal at night, there's two that I really like. To remove waterproof mascara, I find that the Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover gets the job done. For face makeup, I use the Simple cleansing micellar water. It is so gentle on the skin and gets rid of most of my makeup. After using the cleansing water I wash my face with the Juice Beauty cleanser then apply the serum. Also, I use the Aveeno smart essentials moisturizer.

What are your holy grail skin products?
