Soundtrack of My Life

Lucy from Forever September posted a really fun tag by Emma, and I thought it would be entertaining to fill out the tag myself.

My First Album

I shared most of my parents' music since I grew up just listening to the music they listen to. But I guess.. My first album that was actually mine was Coldplay's Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, which was given to me by my first boyfriend (juicy)! And... The first album that I bought with my own money was Greyson Chance's first album  Hold on 'til the Night (lol).

Longterm Relationship Album

Up until now, I am not tired of listening to Ed Sheeran's first album, +. I know all the words, and I get all excited whenever a song starts playing. I just love it, ok.
Honorary mention: Chaos and the Calm by James Bay :)

Song That Makes Me Happy

Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. It makes me smile whenever it plays haha! I tend to singalong and dance a little bit too. Plus! The words are very positive! (It also reminds me of the scene in the movie Easy A! Which I thought was pretty funny)

Song/Album That Makes Me Want to Dance

It is impossible to choose one song or one album! Uhhh, I really like Icona Pop's All Night, and We Got the World. And for an album, I would have to say ABBA's Greatest Hits!!!

First Gig

My first big concert was Taylor Swift's Speak Now Tour in Manila, Philippines back in 2011 I believe. But I know I went to a local Filipino artist's small concert when I was way younger, but I don't really remember.

Song I'd Wish I'd Written

I wish I wrote Billy Joel's Vienna and Coldplay's Fix You. They are both such a good songs. It makes me think a lot about myself and my life in general.

Song That Reminds Me of Being A Teen

Anything Taylor Swift. It was my teenage anthem (cringe)! But I guess she was relatable during my teenage years. She got me through the good times and the bad (heartbreaks and such lol). "Weeee are never, ever, everrrrr! Getting back togetherrr!!!"

Karaoke Song

All I Ask by Adele (in the lower tone because I can't really sing that high!). I don't know, but I like singing Adele on karaoke nights. I'm not really good at singing, but I feel the feelings (lol) when I'm belting out Adele's dramatic sappy love songs! haha Taylor Swift songs are really good to sing in karaoke! OH! And Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper!!!

Song That Remind Me of Home

Anything Celine Dion. But I guess, My Heart Will Go On is the one song that really reminds me of home. My mom loves listening to Celine Dion, and she made me sing My Heart Will Go On as a kid. My father liked listening to classic rock, so I guess anything by Journey like Lights and Faithfully.

Ultimate Desert Island Disc

Okay this is really hard!!! But I guess if I had to choose, it would be The Very Best of Daryl Hall and John Oates by Hall and Oates. I don't think I'll ever get tired of their music. Their songs are just so fun and groovy haha!

Since we're already talking about music, I have been listening to a lot of The Xx, HAIM, and The 1975 lately. I really like HAIM's new album Something to Tell You. Every single song is just so good you guys! If you haven't listened to it, I highly recommend it! I think my fave from that album is Walking Away.

Self Portrait: Seizing the Day

Well... here's a super random blog post. I woke up this morning feeling super creative so I whipped out my DSLR and practiced taking self portraits. (Yay for remote shooting!) I especially like Canon's camera app where you can do remote live view shooting. It makes focusing on the subject super easy!!! Anyway, here are a few of the photos I took. I literally just woke up when I took this so please excuse the tired look on my face haha!

While we're at it, let's talk about "seizing the day". I had a really good talk with one of my closest friends this morning and like our usual conversations, we got really deep. We started talking about our purpose, how we "live to die", and other really dark stuff. (Yeah you can say we are pretty weird. But hey this is what happens when you're having an existential crisis hahaha!) Anyway, she said something that made me stop and think. She told me that no one really cares about what you do to yourself or do in your lifetime. We are mostly pressured and influenced by society on how we are "supposed" to live our lives. But the truth is, no one cares because everyone is too busy caring about themselves. So in my friend's exact words, "you shouldn't give a shit". Seize the day and just do you. Stop overthinking about the future and just enjoy this moment. Today is a gift, that is why it's called "present"! (ayyyeee!)

How are you doing? Tell me about a time you've done something brave.
